Everyone can compose.
Whether you’re new to composition or a seasoned composer looking for new approaches, this workshop is for you! We will learn about the different components that make up a song, experiment through guided exercises, and tackle some of the challenges that can get in the way of creating. Participants may use a variety of tools including their voice/instrument, phone, GarageBand (or other preferred DAW), and/or paper. The workshop focuses on Jazz composition, but the techniques covered can be applied to many styles of music. This workshop offers a relaxed, supportive and engaging environment for anyone to learn more about composition.

“The Dive into Composition workshop was a fantastic experience from start to finish. From the creative prompts to the excellent feedback and teaching that happened during the weekly calls, I went from absolutely afraid of composition to loving and enjoying the creative process. Any questions I had were answered in such a way that someone brand new to writing music could take it and run immediately. This workshop helps you to just let go and experience something everyone should: Creativity and Expression.” - Brave Musician® Workshop Attendee
